Calcium hypochlorite actually has a higher concentration of chlorine than traditional liquid bleach. As bleach kills organic matter, it also diminishes the presence of bacteria and fungi that are essential to plant growth. The Sodium Hypochlorite will be effectively neutralised by dilution and by contact with soils and other surfaces. It is completely safe for soil and microbial life, and is also easy to do provided the soil is moist enough.
