An earthy soothing colour scheme prevails and that lovely mix of solid tradition and cool modern has been perfectly created. There are many myths surrounding the ship, ranging from supernatural warnings of danger through to the belief that all women and children were offered places on the lifeboats first. Throughout her 40 year time at sea she survived an unbelievable series of events including the sinking of the TITANIC. Based largely on the discovery and subsequent exploration that took place around the sunken ship, the book makes use of accurate details recorded by the author.

The 27-year-old and his parents, who came from the two wealthiest families in Pennsylvania, were among the most prominent passengers on the Titanic. Guests can enjoy a rich variety of cultural and entertainment options within a short walking distance. The fateful night of the sinking of the Titanic had many aspects to it, where some people saved lives, while others fought tooth and claw to protect themselves.Stories on some of the wealthy and famous passengers have also been covered, with detailed accounts of their actions during the sinking. Presented as a by-the-minute recreation of the tragedy, this book is a thriller that leaves you with a sense of what the last few passengers on the ship would have experienced. There is also some speculation of an Egyptian mummy's coffin lid being on board - and the associated curses that may have influenced the sinking of this magnificent ship. Of course, we also went for modern, convenient and contemporary with our fittings and amenities, as you would only expect from one of the best hotels in Liverpool.

First published in 1986, it was updated in the 1990s to include new information and photographs following the discovery of the wreck, which Eaton and Haas, both acknowledged Titanic experts, had seen for themselves from a submersible. The shipwreck occurs in April and the Titan sinks 400 nautical miles from Newfoundland – both details mirroring Titanic’s imperiled voyage. The two-part book keeps the reader on edge throughout as they are taken on a journey of tragedy, courage and sacrifice.A great book, so detailed and tells the story well if your kids are fans of factual stuff and ready to hear information like this. This book was a treasure trove of information that I did not know and I managed to gobble this book up within a short few hours.

A definitive account of the three sister ships Olympic, Brittannic, and Titanic, from the events that shaped their construction to the present-day movie and salvage of the Titanic's wreck. It was nice to know more about them and learn what they were like and their duties, giving humanity to each face including the captain. While working in an advertising agency in New York in the 1950s, some forty years after the sinking, Lord realised that many survivors would soon be reaching the end of their lives and would no longer be able to tell their stories.

The Stanley Docks are impressive for their history and construction and our Superior Dockside Rooms offer stunning views of the docks. Lord had sailed on the Titanic’s sister ship Olympic as a child and developed a fascination with the Titanic, collecting old newspaper cuttings and memorabilia. Report of the United States Senate Committee to Investigate the Causes of the Loss of the White Star Liner Titanic" and "The British Wreck Commissioner's Report on the Loss of the Titanic". This novel takes a wee while to get going, but the night of the disaster scenes are very well done and you may need tissues! I have been fascinated with the story; I can't even imagine how full of fear everyone on board must have been. It was said that anyone who gazed into her face (which was painted onto a wooden “mummy-board” or inner coffin lid) would suffer agonizing consequences. Before boarding Titanic, she had already had one lucky escape five months earlier on Titanic’s other ‘twin’, Olympic, which collided with the cruiser HMS Hawke as she left Southampton on her fifth voyage since launch.
