About this deal

This season Valiant Fireside Accessories adds 2 new fans to its range of heat powered stove fans, meaning that the Hertfordshire company now offers 2, 3 and 4 blade options. In short, no. While they do have motors, stove fans are designed in such a way that they are powered by the heat from the stove. This means that the fan will begin to turn as the stove heats up and will stop turning when the stove cools down. So once you’ve placed it on top of your stove, there’s really nothing else you need to do; it will start and stop automatically. It works well from low temperatures and the air flow is significantly greater than my other stove fan. A variety of solutions have been put forth, but in most cases, the power supply became the hindrance. Although the small electric motor used in a log burner fan only require a small amount of energy to operate, standard batteries couldn't be used because they would be exposed to dangerous levels of heat, in some cases in excess of 300C/570F! That's definitely well beyond tolerance for most batteries. We love that a magnetic stove thermometercomes included with the stove fan to help you monitor its performance and the recommended operating temperature. And with the overall quality of the stove fan, we are all but sold on this option.

The AcornSolution 4-blade heat powered fan is constructed out of heat-sensitive metal to withstand the elevated temperatures of wood-burning stoves. It features a unique blade design that facilitates a high 270 CFM rating. The blades operate quietly and provide you with advanced circulation and heat dispersion, so it’s no surprise this fan can accommodate larger spaces. The Vanquish 250 has unrivalled output pushing out up to 90% greater airflow than other designs, making it especially suited to larger rooms. The quiet, cool running motor provides superior quality and maximises fuel efficiency. The Vanquish standing at 250mm high is the tallest fan in the range, this, combined will the slender aerodynamically designed blades gives it the optimum air movement which pushes out more warm air into the room - perfect for those with the larger stoves wanting the very best product and performance. At the end of the day, while the two designs share some technical differences, they both draw their power from a common source – the heat of the stove itself. This is a big win for stove owners, because it means that no power is needed to run the fan. No electricity, no batteries…nothing. The heat from the stove is all that is required. Lastly, you may find that you also want to consider a stove fan’s overall style and appearance. While this doesn’t always affect how a fan efficiently circulates warm air, it’s okay if you don’t want your new fan to detract from the stove’s design or the room as a whole. Things are much easier with the Stirling powered fans like Vulcan or Warpfire, where there’s no temp difference required – just the heat from the stove. Stirling powered fans are not as vulnerable and withstand much higher temperatures. So if your stove usually gets very hot you might want to consider this kind of fan – especially if you have big area to push the warmth around. These stove fans have a 50°C to 340°C operating temperature range. A magnetic stove thermometer comes included with these stove fans to help you monitor the surface temperature and warm air temperature around the log burner. This extra feature should help you achieve the best possible results from your fan and your stove when used correctly.

The fan blades are aerodynamic for maximum airflow and well-balanced for added stability and longer motor life. The fan is designed to circulate the warm air created by your stove into larger than average sized rooms. Which means you will no longer be fighting over the arm chair next to the fireplace! Our Stove Fans are also self-powered, using the heat from the stove to generate power so no batteries or mains power are needed. The idea for the newer wood stove fans is not a remarkable new discovery; it is actually something that comes from the 19th century. Only the materials are unique to our current technology.
