I felt that this must be quite an exaggeration, having thought that Box 88 was one of the best spy novels I had read for a long time (and I read a lot of spy fiction).

Cumming’s stories have potential, but when it comes to the books in their entirety, they just fall a little short (and long) with what I am looking to read. A strangely stilted book, partly down to the new (slightly wooden) narrator but also through the storytelling. The former Russian FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko who was poisoned with polonium-210 in London had been listed as JUDAS 47. Kite believes that his being placed on the Judas list is connected with Gromik and the Aranov defection.
