As the name may suggest, this is a relatively sweet version of a violet gin. First of all, it’s a gin liqueur which means that the Alcohol by Volume (ABV) of the gin is allowed to be lower than 37.5%. This drink has an ABV of 20%. The result is an effortlessly smooth gin with a tropical twist: a citrus-forward, complex interpretation of the old-fashioned gin category. Butterfly pea flowers give the gin it’s characteristic color, which transforms from indigo to purple or pink when acids like citrus are mixed with it. The only thing they have to keep in mind is that the predominant flavor in a gin has to come from the juniper berry (if you want to know why that is, we explain that in this article). It's no surprise that the star of this show is Creme de Violette. This violet-flavored liqueur gives the drink its color, but also has a very strong violet flavor. You only need a little bit to make a huge impact.

The perfect serve for this gin would be to add tonic water and ice and garnish with a violet flower. This gin would also work amazing in a spritz if paired with prosecco. The first thing I did was measure how much gin my decorative bottle would take. My bottle would hold 350mls of gin, so allowing for a little bit of wastage during the straining process, and me having a little taste, I measured out 380mls of gin and poured it into a large sterilised jar. The blend of botanicals used for their gins consists of juniper, coriander, orris root, angelica, orange peel, licorice, and a few others.
