About this deal

What fun it was to wake up in the morning and see the sun shining in at strange windows! It didn't take Jo, Bessie, and Fanny very long to dress. Then they were out in the little garden, running through the grass that had grown so long, and smelling the roses that grew all around.

This is my favourite book of all time. its for all kinds of people all kinds of ages so more people should enjoy it and every one should give it a 5 star rating The Saucepan Man's mother, who lives with Dame Washalot after The Folk of the Faraway Tree. She runs a cake shop; It is difficult to tell whether all of this is real or just the vivid dreams of a child's imagination. We cannot see this would as an adult, only as a child, and whether this world is imaginary or not, it is irrelevant because it is the children that see, experience, and consider this world to be real. The Enchanted Wood is simply just that, a magical wood inhabited by magical creatures. In the middle of the wood is the Magic Faraway Tree, a tree that grows right up to the clouds and from the top of the tree you can travel to magical worlds. However, if you stay too long you the land will move on and you will not be able to return to the tree. The tree is also inhabited by a number of characters. At the top of the tree is Moon-face, a friendly man who loves his toffee. There are also a number of other characters, such as Wat-is-name, the angry pixie, and Mrs Washalot. Interesting to note that this review is actually a highly effective stupid-magnet. You wouldn't believe the earnest, scolding comments I've deleted. Hilarious. The Faraway Tree Series written by the much beloved Enid Blyton was one of my favorite book series when I was a kid. In fact, I’d be wrong to say it was. The book still is, and will always be very close to my heart.

The initially reluctant DS#1 (age 8) was sold after a chapter or two, stole the book, and immediately read the whole thing - further, he read it at least twice while I was still doling it out a chapter or two at a time to his siblings. It's top reaches the far-away places in a way we don't understand. Sometimes its top braches may be in Witchland, sometimes in lovely countries, sometimes in peculiar places that no one has ever heard of. We never climb it because we never know what might be at the top!" And it was whilst they were in the middle of their tea that they saw a very peculiar thing. Fanny noticed it first.

Unlike the first three books in the series, this work is not a novel, but a series of illustrations with short text underneath. The plot follows two new children, Robin and Joy, who have read The Enchanted Wood and want to join in the adventures. They go to the wood to meet Jo, Bessie and Fanny and meet some of the wood's residents, including Silky and Moon Face.

What exactly is the matter with reading outdated English to a child? Do these PC editors really think a set of books will entirely change the way a kid speaks when modern English surrounds them every other waking minute? For me, even as a kid, reading Enid Blyton was a way for me to learn about the attitudes of that time, how people spoke just a few decades ago, and how it has progressed. Not only did reading The Enchanted Wood and many others of Enid Blyton's books creatively stimulate my mind, but it was also a learning experience for me, and one that I'm very glad I got before adults got all touchy and concerned about children being too damn delicate to be faced with anything 'different'. Jo! Bessie! Fanny!" suddenly came their mother's voice from the cottage not far off. "Tea-time, tea-time!" The main characters are Jo, Bessie and Fanny (updated in recent revisions to Joe, Beth and Frannie), who are three siblings. Fanny is the youngest, Bessie is next in age and Jo is their big brother. They live near the Enchanted Wood and are friends of the residents of the Faraway Tree. Other characters include: Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

No, thank you," said Jo, at once. "We've had enough of towns, Mother! What we'd really like is to go and have a whole-day picnic in the wood!" Three books make up the Faraway Tree trilogy by Enid Blyton: The Enchanted Wood, The Magic Faraway Tree and The Folk of the Faraway Tree. For many, they are the most magical of the stories that Enid Blyton wrote, and their first introduction to the author. This delightful story from classic children's author Enid Blyton was first published in 1939 and has delighted children ever since. This new edition has been given a more modern face-lift - for example, changing the children's names (originally Joe, Bessie and Fanny) for more contemporary-sounding alternatives - but all the fun and magic of Blyton's original has been retained for a new generation of readers.Organisers of The Enchanted Forest, Pitlochry, have confirmed that the event will re-open to the public tonight, Saturday 21st October.

And that night, at bedtime all three stood at the window, looking out on the dark, whispering wood behind the cottage. What would they find in the Enchanted Wood? Very well," said Mother. "You can go tomorrow. Father and I are going off for the day to buy some things we need. You can take your dinner and tea and go off by yourselves, if it is fine and sunny." You won't have any more adventures in the country than you will have in the town," said their father. "I dare say you will find it all very dull."This book is a fantasy and there is an innocence to it which I adored. All the characters are likable even though Jo can sometimes be a brat... Please could you tell me the way to the Three Bears' House?' Moon-Face asked a blue teddy-bear politely. In 1997, stories from the novels were adapted into animated ten-minute episodes for the TV series Enid Blyton's Enchanted Lands. The series, entitled Enchanted Lands: The Magic of the Faraway Tree had 13 episodes:
