About this deal

and you are correct, modpodge is not waterproof unless you get the outdoor kind so you need to seal it. I am looking to try the Minwax polycrylic for that as here it seems to be the cheapest and it lasts on floors and furnature so it should be fine:) I have been using this for several years and it hasn’t yellowed. Beyond “several years” I can’t answer as I haven’t been making it for ages. However, my gut feeling is that people have been decoupaging for EVER, without things yellowing- and mod podge didn’t actually exist until quite recently. So, yeah.

After applying the first coat of Mod Podge, allow it to dry completely before applying additional coats. This will ensure that each layer adheres properly and prevents any smudging or clumping. Depending on the fabric and environmental conditions, drying time may vary. For example, going for a simple DIY wall hanging letters or flags. However, sometimes durability turns out to be your top concern. So, if you bag a project relating to clothing, it’s better to move for fabric mod-podge instead of the regular one. If a “10” is the most rigid you can reasonably get a piece of fabric or strand of yarn with a specific product made for it (like Stiffy), then I’d say regular Mod Podge is around a “6.” The piece will be more flexible with regular Mod Podge. What is the best fabric stiffener?

Step 6 ~ Now you are ready to apply the fabric that will go on the OUTSIDE of the bowl. Apply it in the same way as the first fabric. But this time the fabric will go with the RIGHT side UP. I did use some fabric scraps on one of my terra cotta pots. Making a fabric bowl from nothing but fabric and Mod Podge was a new endeavor. Smooth, Smooth, Smooth. Keep smoothing until all of the bubbles are removed. Then, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT, let the project dry for 15 – 20 minutes. Don't put a top coat on right away. There are so many formulas of Mod Podge and most of them are interchangeable, meaning you can use regular Mod Podge for fabric or paper or whatever. I've also heard Mod Podge pronounced as Modge Podge. Whatever works! Mod Podge Is Similar To White Craft Glue And Is A SealerMy first frame was a craft fail, but it wasn’t long after that I started churning projects out with ease. I’m impressed by how many people get it right the first time! 101 Mod Podge Crafts If you’re looking to add dimension and texture to your fabric projects, Mod Podge Dimensional Magic is the formula to use. It creates a clear, raised finish that can be used to make designs, patterns, or even simulate the look of embroidery. I first of all love your outlook and the truthful view on things over rated. No sure your right with the Mayo as I’m sure it’s Heinz ketchup. But that’s another debate.

You’ll be surprised at all of the things you can make: handmade gifts, jewelry, home decor, fashion, and on and on. That’s why we’re discussing 101 Mod Podge uses right here, right now. If you are unsure about a particular detergent, it is always a good idea to do a spot test on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric before washing it completely. Do Not Dry Clean On the two smaller bowls, in a few places, I did reshape the fabric a bit. Then I let the bowls sit for another hour to further dry. The project is machine washable in cold water on the gentle cycle or by hand after 72 hours, and line dry. However, this formula will hold up best on decorative items that don’t have to be washed often. I washed my fabric project in the washer and when it took it out it looked cloudy, what happened?Just give the little scraps of fabric a good soaking then leave them to dry as flat as you can. Then snip them up. It is truly ace and made making these pegs so easy. And if you are like me and keep every snippet of beautiful material than this is the PERFECT use! Note: when the Mod Podge dries (wait 24 hours), you can add a final protective layer with a clear polycrylic brush-on or spray on formula if you like. Some people choose to if the furniture is going to get a lot of wear and tear (every layer helps). Sand with a fine grit sandpaper between each layer. 8. Consider practicing. Cut items to fit the surface. Measure as necessary, with a ruler and a pencil, and trim items to fit.
