Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this, and I will finish the series. (If part of one) I would recommend to those I know hold interest in this book's content. Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories ever. Or better said: It's one of my favorite worlds and concepts ever. I've read a lot of retellings during the last few years, some better than others, but I don't think I came across a Steampunk one yet. Let me start this review with the fact that I'm not that into Steampunk and don't know that much about it, but I was curious anyway.

There are some really lovely ready-made costumes for Alice in Wonderland. Since there are so many, this post will focus on these costumes. There will be another post to discuss handmade costumes and making your own DIY costume. Alice in Wonderland Garden Statues

Curiouser and Curiouser doesn't retell the story of Alice in Wonderland. It is a totally original story by Melanie Karsak that uses the names from Alice in Wonderland to tell what is basically a romance. I'm pretty sure the author is just writing and self-publishing her own fantasies, and that is totally fine. However, I can't help feel that Karsak is misleading the reader by stamping STEAMPUNK ALICE IN WONDERLAND in all-caps on the top of her book. The steampunk elements in this book are minimal and the Alice elements are minimal so... why? Just why? She has a total of four "steampunk fairy tales" books, and I'm sure the other three are similar to this one. BAhhahABBAhahahAHA!!!! If this was a movie, it would be "so bad that it's good"!! I couldn't believe how crazy everything got at the end. It was ridiculous!

I liked it. I had some issues with it, but as a whole it was good. I probably won't reread ever, but there is a chance I might finish the series. (If part of one) But if not it's not a huge loss. I can't recommend this book enough, I am looking forward to reading more in Melanie Karsak's fairytale Steampunk books. I HIGHLY recommend! A must read for Alice Fans! This post is a look into Alice in Wonderland character costumes for children and adults in more classical and steampunk versions of some of the characters. Since the story already has the clothing and accessories of the Victorian era, it is just a matter of how much interpretation you want to add for your own costume.
