About this deal

Both doors have fine mesh screens. This will keep the bugs out while stillngiving heaps of ventilation. The porch on the side door keeps the rain out so keeping it open and using the mesh screen will work well on a wet day.

The central air beam has a lantern hanging point with neat little velcro loops for attaching a cable to. You could also run fairy lights through the loops. At the bottom of this beam there is a zipped hole to receive an electric cable from outside. This keeps everything neat and provides great illumination at night. The Air4 is a brilliant tent. Like one other correspondent, I am a solo camper, no longer in my prime. I'm nearly 70, but not dead yet. I wanted a tent that I could stand up in, and put up by myself. Leave it for a few minutes for the air to escape and roll up. This can be a bit of a faff and needs to be done well so it fits in the bag. It’s a tight fit. What comes with a Berghaus Air 4? Tent footprints are available to buy separately from tents at outdoor retailers. They're essentially an extra groundsheet that you can pitch before your tent, with the aim of pitching your tent on top of it. After weeks of research, I realised that an inflatable tent was the best way forward for an over 60 year old solo camper, who requires a small footprint but good standing room. In the end, it was the price point and Berghaus name that swung it for me.The outer tent is made from a blue 70 denier fabric with a a 6000mm Hydrostatic head rating and all seams are taped. This is not a flimsy toy tent. It’s extremely waterproof and strong. OK, anti-Millets rant over. Except to say that I'll think twice before buying another tent from them. The two double bedroom pods are detachable from the tent, but not from each other, however, we unhooked the right hand bedroom pod and folded it away to create a space instead for our double dog crate. I said that this is my second Air4. The first one developed an 8 inch rip the first night out. Millets were good as gold in replacing it. I don't think that the rip was due in any way to the design of the tent, or the quality of materials. I suspect that there was a flaw in the weave, nothing more. Tents with rigid poles made of stainless steel or aluminium are for building a rigid frame that will keep your tent sturdy in the wind. They can be heavier and more cumbersome to pitch, though.

The two 'bedrooms' are each just big enough for a double airbed and are separated by a hanging sheet. Just hope they don't snore. But I imagine it would be OK for a family of four if the kids were little. A good rule of thumb is to go for a tent that's claimed to sleep one more person than you need. If you're a family of four, for example, we'd recommend going for a five-person tent. It's very common for manufacturers to be generous about the number of people they say can fit inside their tents. The number they give will be technically true, but it probably won't account for the space needed for campers' belongings, or the space people need for a comfortable night's sleep. The great thing about that porch is that it sits just under my Trespass event shelter. Much less expensive than the Air4 extension and quite a lot more roomy. And yes, I can erect it on my own. The Air4 and Trespass shelter are a great combination.Pump up each beam until the pressure gauge on the pump is in the green. The supplied pump is awesome and makes this really fast and easy. It takes approx 12 pumps for a beam to inflate – less than 1 minute for each. There are 2 doors – one on the side that has a generous rain porch, and one on the end. Both feature generous flaps over the zips to keep the rain out. A well-ventilated tent will make for a more comfortable, condensation-free camping experience, and well-positioned vent panels and doors with fly screens allow for the free flow of air while keeping bugs out of your sleeping space. 4) Indoor space and flexible sleeping compartments An optional awning or canopy can provide protection from the sun and rain, creating a shaded area from which to enjoy the outdoors without having to stay inside your tent. 10) Extra features This is the real strength of an inflatable tent and the Berghaus Air 4 is no slouch in this department. It’s simple and fast… Going up…

After having read a thread on a Facebook group by a designer of the new Berghaus Air tent range, we decided to take a look at what the range of tents could offer us. There was a delay in delivery by the courier, Millets were quite helpful, and after 2or 3 days of complaining by me, I was offered a further 15% off the price of the tent for my inconvenience, so I was happy with that. The front window blinds roll to the sides and there are vents directly above them. These have a flap on the outside which can be closed with Velcro and a prop to hold them open. These help to reduce condensation. In the main living area There are luminous guy-lines which saves the embarrassing trips in the night. Dimensions Standard version – 3 air beams I do think that the manufacturer may have missed an opportunity (or maybe it was just a cost-saving exercise) but it occurs to me that with the addition of a couple of poles, the huge front door could double as an awning. I have some spare poles, so perhaps I'll see if this idea works when I use the tent this weekend.Like the main living area, there is a single hanging point for a lantern. Putting it up and taking it down
