About this deal

The young man drew a large ship and grinned silently. The rich guy hopped onto the ship and set out to find the treasure, but when the ship reached the middle of the sea, Ma Liang created a tremendous wave that sank the ship, and the rich man was never seen again in the village. The teacher sneered at the shabby boy and replied, “What? A poor kid like you wants to learn to paint? You must be daydreaming! Get out of my sight!” Once upon a time, there lived a young boy named Ma Liang. Unfortunately, both his parents had died early, so he had to support himself by chopping wood and cutting grass. Despite his difficult life, Ma Liang had a passion for painting. Unfortunately, he was so poor that he couldn’t afford to buy a paintbrush. If you have a child of pre-school or early school age it's likely you would have at least heard of Julia Donaldson, who, in her partnership with the illustrator Axel Scheffler has created several best-selling books for young children, including the most popular Gruffalo which spawned a true cult. Magic Paintbrush is also a Julia Donaldson's book, and it's also written in rhyme as most of her others, but it's not illustrated by Axel Scheffler and it's a different kind of book. The moral lesson of “ The Magic Paint brush “ is that one should use their talents and abilities for the benefit of others , rather than just for personal gain .

This...is my magic brush. When I draw with this, all my wishes come true! A strange old man in a white coat gave it to me...” — Bowser Jr., Super Mario Sunshine Before Malcolm and I had our three sons we used to go busking together and I would write special songs for each country; the best one was in Italian about pasta. The story, whilst there are some advanced aspects to its telling, is suitable for three to eight years olds, which is made possible by the inclusion of cross curricular traits. There are some lovely adjectives, a wide variety of connectives and rhyming words for the children to investigate. It wasn’t long before a rich man who lived near the village heard about Liang’s magic paintbrush, and thought he would use it to make himself richer than the emperor. This man decided to steal Liang’s paintbrush. He sent some of his * thugs to Liang’s home, where they captured Liang and put him in prison. The rich man took the paintbrush. When he saw it was difficult for people to till lands, he drew a cow and the cow came to life. People could use the cow to till lands very easily. Afterwards, you can ask children about the story. Who was the hero of the story? What were they doing that was good? What would your children draw if they had a magic paintbrush?

The rich man wanted to show off his power so he invited some friends to his house. He drew a lot of pictures, but not one picture became real. The rich man figured there must be some special secret that he didn’t know about, so he sent for Liang. When Liang stood before him he said, “If you draw some pictures for me and they become real, I will let you go free.” Summary: This book offers rhymed retelling of a traditional Chinese folk story perfect for reading aloud, with beautiful illustrations and strong message about greed and artistic responsibilities. Highly recommended for children aged 4 to about 9, and parents should enjoy it too. The emperor wanted even more speed, so Ma Liang added more strokes to the wind. The boat masts caught the wind fully, and the wooden boat sailed ahead at full speed. However, the waves were getting bigger and bigger, and the boat was being tossed about in the choppy waters. He began to use the paintbrush anytime someone needed assistance from that day on. He designed a river and it came to life when he noticed that people didn't have enough water to utilize in the fields. Then he invited a lot of his friends to come to his home and showed them the magic paintbrush. He drew a lot of pictures, but they could not become real. He was very angry and asked some people to get Ma Liang. I studied Drama and French at Bristol University, where I met Malcolm, a guitar-playing medic to whom I’m now married. He drew a cow and it came to life when he observed how difficult it was for people to till the field. The cow might readily be used to plow the ground.
