About this deal

bugNeah, HDR is about supporting a larger luminance range. You can't physically do that, if you're constrained to a limited color space to begin with. The energy efficiency class/label provides general idea about the power consumption. There are different energy efficiency classes and each sets its own requirements regarding the power consumption. Some of the existent energy efficiency classes are A+++, A++, A+, A, B, C, D, E, F, G.

Information about the average amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another. While the LG 27UK650 is a decent 4K monitor for gaming and other use, the ASUS VG289Q simply offers better value for the price. Color accuracy overall was fairly good, and very similar to that of the UK600. I measured an average DeltaE of 2.3 on the UL650, with a maximum of about 4.5. I also measured a default color temperature on the UL650 of 6514K, where the UK600 had a less accurate color temp of 6800K. Keep in mind that native color temperature will vary between units of the same model, sometimes significantly, so I wouldn't draw any meaningful comparisons in terms of color temp.

The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. The UL650 covered 99.1% of sRGB, similar to the 99.4% value for my UK600. It does seem that LG improved the dci-P3 coverage slightly. My UK600 had only 79% of dci-P3, where my UL650 has 84% of dci-P3. This is noticeable in HDR content, where colors do seem a bit more natural and less garish. Its still not great coverage, and I wouldn't consider this display to be a wide color gamut display, but its an improvement. These specs, along with 4K UHDresolution, ensure a stunning image quality, and while the contrast ratio isn’t as high as that of the VA panel alternatives, you do get more accurate and consistent colors. The static contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce simultaneously, for example, within one and the same frame/scene. There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used. LG has released a new addition to their monitor lineup. The 27UK650-W is an interesting monitor, marrying a 27", 16:9 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS panel with HDR 10 support. The static contrast ratio of 1000:1 means the monitor has a dynamic contrast of 5,000,000:1 (not that that particular spec matters much). The maximum brightness, however, leaves much to be desired on a HDR-enabled monitor: the LG 27UK650-W only manage to deliver 350 cd/m² brightness, which is lower than even the lowest HDR standard AMD considers as being HDR capable (a minimum brightness of 400 cd/m² is required for that). The sRGB 99% Color Gamut coverage is good, however, if not that rare a feature nowadays.

Just like most 4K IPS monitors at this price range, the LG 27UK650-W is based on an IPS panelwith 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC), 99% sRGB color gamut, a 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, and a 350-nit peak brightness. Dimensions, weight and color Information about the dimensions and the weight of the specific model with and without stand as well as the colors, in which it is offered to the market. Width Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality.

The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC.

Do keep in mind that individual units of the same model can and will vary, so the values I provide from testing may not be representative of your specific unit, or of the average performance of the model overall. I performed all measurements using an i1 display pro colorimeter and DisplayCal calibration software. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. The LG 27UK650 is an affordable 27″ 4K IPS monitor that supports AMD FreeSync and entry-level HDR (High Dynamic Range) which makes it an impressive choice for 4K PC/console gaming, content creation, and other multimedia use. Image Quality Power supply and consumption Information about the power supply and consumption, energy efficiency class, etc. 110V Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio.
