About this deal

This community is a friendly space for those with or working with paler complexions to trade tips, offer advice, share recommendations and ask for assistance finding, exploring and experimenting with makeup and skincare that complements lighter complexions. Mask-like effects are banished through the use of multi-toned ingredients which work to boost the natural features of the face. Its formula seems a little less intense in a single application than the rest of the products mentioned today. If I had to sum up my thoughts on the pressed Shimmering Skin Perfectors I’d have to admit they’re not my absolute favorite formula of pressed highlighter. Becca has numerous variations of limited edition Shimmering Skin Perfectors as well as a few shades that are exclusive to Becca Cosmetics .

It’s too deep to work as a highlight or even a blush topper on my skin but I can use it over my matte bronzer to give the face a glow. I can wear this shade when my face is heavily contoured and bronzed, but on a daily basis- it looks like a “patch of highlighter” on my skin.I would recommend to someone looking for that noticeable highlight look, if you're looking for the natural/glow from within I would have to go to a different product. This is a creamy, soft and smooth highlighter that is very finely milled and with the right brush it applies to the skin like a dream. Needless to say this will be a short and sweet post today, but with deadlines looming at uni, this I just had to share. I’ve taken advantage of several holiday kits, mini sets, and freebie gifts so some shades are minis, in limited edition packaging, or contained in palettes. Mica, Talc, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isostearyl Alcohol, Petrolatum, Silica, Boron Nitride, Nylon-12, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Dimethicone, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Paraffin, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline), Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Acrylates Copolymer, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Potassium Sorbate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Tin Oxide.

If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. I still remember the early days of the brand when the line had those beautiful loose shimmering powders, pigmented eyeshadow singles and glowy lip glosses. For this look, I used a matte bronzer lightly to give some definition to my face and then added Own You Light highlighter on the cheek- the apples and the highpoints. It's sheerer than for example theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, but that doesn't mean that it's not pigmented. Each shade can be used alone or swirled together to create a custom glow for the highlight of your life!

In terms of application the highlight can be pretty intense but the formula is soft and easy to layer and blend. Just spritz some facial mist on your brush, dip it in this highlighter, and swipe it on your eyes with a heavy dose of mascara and liner. Use as a luminising mixer: Mix 1-2 drops into your favourite primer, foundation, face or body moisturiser for an all-over BECCA Glow! Quick tip: If you get this color and feel like it’s darker than your skin color, use it as an eyeshadow! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

That being said, a white highlighter won’t necessarily flatter all skin tones since it’s so light, but luckily Becca has an awesome range of shades to choose from that will compliment the fairest to the deepest skin tones. I absolutely love both the standard rubberized black compacts as well as the stunning metal ones that they put out for limited collections. Some are sold at other retailers like Sephora or Ulta but the full collection is available on Becca’s site. First thing I noticed right off the bat is RMS Living Luminizer is waaaaaay more subtle than the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfectors. Becca describes it as “soft gold with pinky-peach pearl” and claim that it’s flattering on all skin tones.

It also catches the light and gives off lovely shine, while Mary-Lou is really intense and looks almost a bit metallic. If you want something more natural looking with less shimmer I’d recommend you try the NARS Highlighting Powders or Tom Ford Sheer Cheek Duos.
