Yes, there were sad bits and that made me teary, but the pure hope running through the book is so moving too. She also hosts a podcast which is understated throughout the novel but comes into its own quite significantly, before the end.

I liked the format of the book especially Nell's Things I Am Grateful For at the end of each chapter.
