What most people don’t know is that he loves all things about the natural world and is a massive fan of birds in particular. It’s not an in-depth guide by any stretch of the imagination, but an entertaining book for a short read (I read it ona coach journey in under 2 hours), or to dip into. The prose is as charming as it is informative, with the sort of conversational flourishes you might hope for from a comedian. He is perhaps most well known for his live shows, including Larks in Transit, Qualmpeddler, Limboland, and The Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra.

If you’ve zero interest in out feathered friends, though, the comic elements probably won’t be enough to warrant a purchase.

Alongside music and stand-up, one of Bailey's favorite pastimes is birdwatching, which he has been doing since he was a child in the West Country. And he makes some argument that they shouldn’t just be considered nuisances, and deserve to be appreciated as much as any other natural creature.
