About this deal

They are roughly equal for both HDR and SDR brightness, although the TCL has better contrast and black uniformity, helped by a better local dimming feature. Similarly, i was worried when i couldn't find the remote control - but again I'm just a cretinous boomer - there's probably some bint named Alexa or Siri or Sue living inside the box who'll turn the TV on if you shout loud enough. Or you may prefer to use the VIDAA control app - it duplicates the remote control’s functionality, has a page for apps (and plenty of them), and is clear and logical to use. The C2 is also better for gaming due to its much faster response time and lower input lag, and it’s better for watching shows or sports as a group because of its much wider viewing angle.

DTS Virtual X: Premium audio post-processing solution for TVs that brings height to the entertainment experience. It delivers a responsive gaming experience thanks to its incredibly low input lag, and there's very little tearing thanks to its VRR support.

Visibility is good in a bright room thanks to its excellent SDR peak brightness and good reflection handling, so you don't have to worry about glare.

When it comes to watching movies in a dark room, the Hisense is the better option since it has better contrast, better black uniformity, and gets brighter in HDR, so highlights pop more than on the Sony. The bottom edge sports a smart silver, vaguely metallic-looking finish, while the other three edges are exceptionally trim and feature a black finish that again looks too polished to be bog-standard plastic. Gamers, meanwhile, are directed towards the LG C2 - again, it’s a 2022 model but we doubt very much that will bother you once you’ve seen how it responds to inputs from your games console. Not only in terms of image technology, but also in terms of sound, the E7HQ leaves nothing to be desired with Dolby Audio.Unfortunately, its viewing angle is disappointing, so it's not very well suited for a wide seating arrangement. It still doesn’t look right, though; there’s too much green, skin colouring still doesn’t look natural, there’s more backlight clouding, and black levels look slightly greyer. QLED 4K – The Hisense QLED series E7HQ in 4K resolution features Quantum Dot technology, which enables the television to show a wider colour gamut and purer colours. There were holes which looked like they could be used to fix the stand to the Television with screws. The C3 has a much better picture quality due to its perfect contrast and the ability to display much deeper blacks, so it’s the better choice for a dark room.

There’s no local dimming to go with the direct backlighting, though, and worryingly the set uses an IPS-style LCD panel rather than a VA one. This means compatibility with AMD Freesync Premium, VRR, ALLM and your console’s other clever features, as well as eARC functionality. This high flicker frequency isn't noticeable to most people, but it can cause headaches if you're sensitive to flicker. The C2 has a much better picture quality due to its perfect contrast and the ability to display much deeper blacks, so it’s the better choice for a dark room. There’s no support for the HDR10+ system, but getting support for even one active HDR system (Dolby Vision) on such an affordable TV is good news. speaker system (complete with that hefty rear-mounted subwoofer) pumping out a claimed 40W of audio power.
