About this deal

Strange and Strange Too are essential titles in both the Depeche Mode and Anton Corbijn catalogues, and are the perfect example of Anton's unique ability to capture the spirit of DM on film.

The graph below represents the comparison of the waveforms of the Qobuz digital version, the vinyl and the tape for the first 4 tracks. Since neither the liner notes nor the official press release specifies these details, I employed a little bit of record-collector sleuthing knowledge to find the name of the disc-mastering engineer — and I found it to be none other than Matt Colton at Metropolis in London. However, given the quite high-fidelity nature of the album, I think it’s also fair to say it was probably made in hi-res — especially as you can find it on high-end streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal at 24-bit/96kHz.Originally released on Mute/Columbia in March 2013, Delta Machine presented fans with Heaven (released as the album's lead single in January 2013), Soothe My Soul (released May 2013) and Should Be Higher (released October 2013). Meanwhile, Side 3’s “Always You” grabbed me for very personal reasons, as the simple-but-ominous repetitive two-chord changes remind me of a similarly somber-yet-forward-looking song I wrote many years ago as part of a song-cycle tribute to my late partner. However, despite this problem, the magic of vinyl works by offering a more pleasant listening experience than the digital limited in dynamic release, but which raises the question of the fidelity of the original mix before a destructive mastering. The graph below compares the vinyl spectrum (white curve) to the Qobuz Hi-Res spectrum (blue curve). This amount includes seller specified domestic postage charges as well as applicable international postage, dispatch, and other fees.

In addition, in conjunction with Live Nation's Green Nation team, Depeche Mode and Hublot will also support programs on tour and at the venues focusing on limiting use of single-use plastics, improved recycling, food and other waste reduction, and other sustainability-related initiatives. As a reminder, the scale goes from 0 to more 20, but the dynamics are considered good from 12, quite good between 10 and 11, and deteriorate below 10. The Strange/Strange Too DVD and Blu-ray configurations come in a digipack with a 16-page concertina booklet featuring photographs and new liner notes penned by Anton Corbijn. It was undoubtedly recording in the highest possible studio res, however that is not necessarily an indicator of what streaming services offer. Well, if you like electronic music and the music of Depeche Mode especially, then I think the answer is clearly yes.Released in 1990, Strange Too (aka "Strange Too – Another Violation by Anton Corbijn") was shot in full-color, opening up a visual/sonic palette for the director and the band as they explored songs from Violator plus bonus videos for "Halo"and "Clean. This sadness is probably all the more challenging for the band, and thus infused in this music, given the tragic May 2022 passing of their co-founding bandmember, keyboardist Andy Fletcher.
