About this deal

Looking to find answers she starts investigating her grandfather's mysterious death but in doing so uncovers the horrific truth and the shocking events of the past. is super impressive with his skills LOL I'm not a pet rat enthusiast or anything but I do love animals. Not much here that you haven't seen before, although there are a couple of creepy scenes and decent scares. Although I pretty much guessed the ending well before the reveal it still held my interest throughout.

But as the film progresses, she starts making smart decisions rather than trite, tired ones; she shows a surprising amount of passion and energy in her performance, even if the script is determined to try and sabotage her. Engage with a series of cryptic riddles, guiding your steps through a series of haunting houses, each hiding secrets that echo through the ages. I won't say much, because I don't want to give anything away, but this is a film I feel is very much worth checking out! Okay, so this is my first ever review but I feel like people NEED to be warned for the absolutely shocking acting by the main character. She moves in with a view to selling it but almost immediately spooky things start to happen, including a creepy cookie jar, the top of which moves by itself. The deeper she digs, the darker and more dangerous things become, eventually culminating in an all out battle for her life. Horror has been my favourite genre for decades, but with films like this I think it's time to give up hope. It sent me and my husband crazy how totally irritating her damn voice was and the relief when she wasn't on the screen.

Then by halfway through it had actually accomplished a feat few movies these days are capable of – it made me jump and squeal like a child, with a really beautifully executed scare. It takes the basics of a creepy, haunted house tale and layers in a couple of complexities that heightens the interest level. Echoes of Fear invites you to unravel ancient mysteries beneath the tranquil facade of a valley frozen in time.

An annoying lead actress leads us through a story about an old man dying in the shower; his granddaughter and boyfriend move into the property, only to find weird neighbours and even weirder events taking place in the home. While most of the horror is psychological there are some violent and disturbing scenes including a sword stick being put to good use and a couple of stranglings . As she puts it up for sale, she starts to sense that there's a presence in the home that is not from our world. Acting was very good, and the film as a whole felt like a big budget movie, even though it was lower budget.

Most people who like suspense will enjoy this movie because there are enough scare scenes and unknowns to keep it interesting. After inheriting her grandfather's house, a young woman must confront the mystery of his sudden death and the evil that hides inside. His granddaughter Alisa (Trista Robinson – Purgatory Road, The Human Race) arrives to get the place ready to sell on, which involves her mostly living there on her own while she sorts her grandfather’s affairs, with occasional visits from boyfriend Brandon (Paul Chirico – Marry Me, Escape the Night) and best friend Steph (Hannah Race – Billy and the Bandit, So You Wanna Make a Movie) to help her out. As soon as I put the dvd on I thought oh no its one of them cheap horror, which it was🙄 it was rather slow and not scary in the slightest. You never can tell with a lot of these - well lets be honest , B movies - whether you will get to the end and declare to yourself , ' there is 90 mins of my life that I wont get back ' , however I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a movie , give it a chance it wont disappoint .

It's your typical, 'What Lies Beneathesque' ghost story although the former did a much better job at convincing. About half an hour we and we get our first supernatural jump scare, I'm man enough to admit this and the following one did work on me. The horror elements are a mix of traditional haunted house tropes, chilling visual scenes and very dark subject matter. Good grief, why do so many female actors have their mouths gaping open like an idiot in every other scene? The real horror is much more real, as her best friend says "Whatever this is it's way beyond ghosts!Echoes of Fear premiered at the 18th annual Shriekfest Horror Festival, the longest running horror festival in Los Angeles, where it won Best Supernatural Horror Feature. The film was inspired by several real life killings, from the Hillside Strangler being two cousins to the ghost rapes of Bolivia, where women in a Bolivian Mennonite community were convinced that ghosts or demons were attacking them in their sleep when it was really men using animal anesthetic. What appealed to me about this movie is that the ghosts are only half the horror, in fact if anything they are the goods guys, despite looking "scary". Closer to home - the South Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh - Roy Kirk's murder of Ann Hoover also had a hand in this film.
