A rich, spicy yet subtle rum with surprisingly mellow and complex flavours resulting from its maturation in old oloroso sherry casks. Foursquare is one of Barbados’ oldest trading houses, a family-owned business whose involvement in rummaking extends from father-to-son since 1820. This expression of Doorly's Fine Old Barbados Rum was aged in small, American White Oak casks for a full 14 years resulting ina rum that has a complex character with a delicate aroma that can only come from time. Made at Foursquare Rum Distillery in St Philip, Barbados, one of the few remaining independent family owned producers in the Caribbean.

Some rums will be blended again and undergo the second maturation before being bottled usually at 40%. It is quite layered, but as I said the finish is a little short, which is fine, this is meant to be mostly a mixing rum, and it fulfills its purpose perfectly.

This is a party rum, you can equally use this in a fruity punch or for an Old Fashioned and it won’t fail you. Spices galore on this one, kicking us off is some Ginger and Cinnamon before a Madeira Sweetness comes in to play with a Thick Jam like texture alongside before an Oak, Nutmeg and Giger infusion come to finish off.
