About this deal

The other USB-C port is an upstream port and also delivers power, and because it's limited to 15W, it's meant to charge small devices like headphones or peripherals. Every OLED pixel is self-lit, so you’ll see the tiniest spark in the darkest void with absolute precision and clarity. With the fairly chunky stand, built in bending mechanism and deep screen foot, the panel doesn’t look any thinner than typical large LCD screens really, so you don’t have that same “look how thin this OLED panel is” aesthetics like you get on some displays.

The XENEON FLEX is equipped with the latest technology to deliver flicker free imagery and to protect both the panel and your eyes. Most large format OLED screens run ABL or automatic brightness limiter algorithms that adjust brightness according to how much of the panel is being driven hard. Pixel orbiting and refresh features are included to maintain the panel’s health while in standby mode.

If you fancy a more gentle curve than 800R you can leave the panel in any position between the maximum curve and flat. The Xeneon Flex comes with a couple of burn-in protection measures plus a 3 year warranty which includes cover for burn-in and dead pixels. That's an important omission given heatsinks are increasingly being used to allow the latest OLED TVs to achieve better large-object and full-screen brightness. Strictly speaking, you can debate whether the new Xeneon Flex is pure monitor tech, given its 45-inch ultrawide panel is derived from LG's latest TVs, right down to its WRGB rather than RGB sub-pixel structure. Being tucked back on the bottom of the stand it was sometimes a little tricky to find and use, but worked pretty well.Whether or not you prefer a curved display for watching movies is a matter of taste, but it’s great to have the option to watch in either format. Some of you won’t care because if you’re spending this sort of money on a monitor, you are probably planning on splashing out on a high-end speaker system, but that rather begs the question of why there isn’t an optical audio output. Considering that the Xeneon Flex throws in that new flexible display technology, I think it's only reasonable it costs this much. We should say that the impact on the contrast and black depth on this screen was less pronounced than on the Dell Alienware AW3423DW (34″ ultrawide QD-OLED screen) which is often criticised for this problem, perhaps unfairly in some cases. They are literally garbage when it comes to image quality, compared to what modern W-Oled or QD-Oled TVs offer.

This coating does a very good job of reducing reflections and handling external light sources like windows and lamps and we noticed much better reflection handling (no surprise) than glossy panels like the LG C2. video inputs, two Type-C ports, one for upstream data and one for DP Alt Mode video input with 30W DP charging, two USB 3.However, if a truly versatile and immersive gaming monitor with gorgeous picture quality and rich colors is what you’re seeking, this is worth it. The 45WQHD240 features a more traditional monitor-like matte anti-glare coating, as opposed to a glossy panel coating like you’d find on popular OLED TV’s, like for instance the LG 42C2.
