About this deal

There are two small issues I found with this charger. First, the integrated USB-A cable, although braided for durability, looks cheap compared to the rest of the pad, and is only 90cm (3 feet) long, making the places where I could put the charger limited by how close my power outlets were. Plus, the charger is only capable of 10W output, which while available with any compatible device, is a bit slow. Which company's wireless charger is best? Apple have included wireless charging on their iPhone’s since the 8, and Samsung have done that for years; they’ve also made a wide range of Samsung wireless chargers that work with all phones with wireless charging built in. More recently, OnePlus, Motorola and Huawei have all included wireless charging technology in their handsets. Compatible devices? More than 360 member companies belong to the WPC, and all of them conform to the standards that the Qi Certification Program outlines. The program relies on a network of independent and authorized test laboratories located around the globe that test for safety, interoperability, and functionality. These labs use various test procedures when testing these specific properties, and only Qi-certified devices may use the Qi logo. Although Qi technology arrived on the mass market in 2023, some smartphone manufacturers are among Qi technology’s forerunners, while others are still struggling to adopt it. Multiple smartphones that are currently available have firmly established the Qi standard, and you can learn more about them in our ‘What is the Qi Standard?’ article.

Most modern smartphone models support the speedier Fast Wireless Charging level of 10-15 watts. Depending on the manufacturer, though, the way this charging level affects a device’s performance can vary, and it demands a suitable Qi charger to achieve optimal performance. The current level for iPhones, for example, is 7.5, 12 or 15 watts when using the MagSafe charger. The Google Pixel 6 can reach power levels as high as 23 watts. These days, manufacturers typically design wireless chargers that adhere to the Qi standard for multiple power levels. The most important thing to look for when shopping for the best wireless charger for your needs is whether it's compatible with your phone. If a wireless charger is Qi certified, it should support your iPhone, Samsung phone or other Android phone. But note that the wattage support will vary from charger to charger. Most chargers support 10W charging for Android phones and 7.5W charging for iPhones, although if they support Apple's MagSafe standard, then you can charge an iPhone 12, 13 or 14 at up to 15W instead. Your eyes don't deceive you, this really is a wireless charger made of marble. You can also get it in six other colors of travertine, sandstone, or lava stone if you want a different look for this simple but handsome charging pad. It's incredible that you get something that will easily sit in a living room or kitchen without looking out of place for this price. All specifications, features and other product information provided are subject to change without notice. Images are for illustrative purposes only.Qi enabled phones have the advantage of being able to wirelessly charge with all Qi chargers, regardless of a charger’s manufacturer. More than anything, it’s highly convenient to be able to wirelessly charge a mobile phone rather than connecting it to a charging cable. Thanks to the Qi standard, Qi charging uses power levels usually ranging from 5-15 watts, and Qi chargers are always downward compatible. You can learn more about the best Qi chargers and their different power levels in our smartphone descriptions. The Qi standard considers multiple precautions regarding customer safety that include foreign object detection and heat shielding. Independent laboratories that conduct tests on devices that have not been certified by the WPC indicate that non-certified products may reach temperatures as high as 93 degrees Celsius. These temperatures can cause third-degree burns, which is why it’s important to make sure that Qi compatible phones carry the WPC-authorized Qi logo. How fast is Wireless Charging? Mobile phones should ideally be able to exchange energy in the near future: this concept is what’s known as “reverse wireless charging” which we briefly touched on in the Qi compatible Phones List. It offers many promising possibilities, although it does have a glaring shortcoming: reverse wireless charging in its current state is working with the slower 5 watts. Nevertheless, this concept is highly interesting and can prove immensely useful in emergencies. Most smartphones include a built-in Qi standard, while older devices may require an upgrade from their manufacturer. Generally speaking, you can upgrade most other mobile phones with a Qi adapter. You can find Qi compatible and Qi-certified smartphone models in our mobile phone overview as well as models that are designed to be upgraded. How Do You Add Inductive Charging Via Qi? If space on your desk is at a premium, this handsome charger from Otterbox gives you the most compact footprint we've come across for a 2-in-1 charger. With its silver and white finish, it'll match well with your other Apple gear, while the magnetic charging surfaces will keep your Apple Watch and iPhone secure as they power up. I particularly appreciated the 90 degrees of motion that the iPhone charger has, which lets you hold the phone at a specific angle (good for watching stuff while powering up), or charge non-magnetic accessories like a pair of AirPods by tilting it into its flat position. If your phone is among one of the devices that appear here, you just need to buy a wireless charger. Note that you don’t need to get a wireless charger made by the same company as your phone, e.g. Samsung wireless chargers work just fine with the iPhone 14.

Usage included e.g. gaming, video streaming, calling, sending sms, browsing and using apps (such as social media, news, navigation and music). The test was conducted with normal device settings in a lit indoor environment. The device was left on standby overnight.
