About this deal

Our goal is to build upon and consolidate the great work already being done by other community members across various forums, reddit threads, and hobby blogs, and bring together a comprehensive library of all these useful Build Instruction booklets. To aid Reikenor in his appointed task, Nagash has bound to him Kyllaron, a fierce winged Nightmare. Mounted on the undead steed's head armour are a grim assortment of corpse candles. They are a unique mix of tallow rendered from Reikenor's former apprentices along with a grave-sand mix. Indeed, after his soul was claimed by Nagash, it was the Grimhailer's own disciples that were his first target. They too were blasphemers and Nagash deemed their fate fitting. By snuffing out the flame of a corpse candle, Reikenor can end the life of a nearby mortal or siphon off a portion of his own essence - either way, by doing so he creates a surge of arcane force to empower his enchantments. The Grimhailer is now condemned to kill forever, and that he must extinguish light and create darkness to do so is a cruel twist that Nagash holds as one of his most just punishments. [1a]

Reaping Scythe –Casting Value 4. Supercharge the caster, letting them reroll all hits and wounds with melee weapons. Use this on a Knight of Shrouds with the Midnight Tome or Reikenor. BWarhammer Underworlds Warband. As can be expected the same story is true here, due to requiring they come with the warband, the point cost is inflated to a point that makes the Hero themselves worthless. If you can even get one at this point, as they were in the second edition of Warhammer Underworlds which has since gone out of print. Battleline Transformed into a servant of the Great Necromancer, he in turn now hunts those who would deny his lord his due. [1] Sources As a powerful sorcerer-king he gathered many acolytes and followers to his cause, using his mastery of light magic to try and defeat mortality itself! Although Reikenor had vast knowledge and understanding of the energies of Shyish he merely attracted the malign attention of Nagash. [1] In the afterlife the Grimhailer still hunts, but now he does so in the name of Nagash. His quarry is no longer eldritch secrets of mortality - instead he seeks those who transgress against his master. Through his arcane powers Reikenor can sense those that withhold souls from Nagash, tamper with his necromantic rituals, desecrate his monuments or commit any other sacrilegious act. Those who are not in service to Nagash but pursue necromantic knowledge are especially targeted. [1a]

After years of collecting, buying and selling, building and painting, we realised that we had amassed a small library of Build Instructions, Assembly Instructions and User Guides for various Games Workshop products. Hard to recommend as their role in your army isn’t terribly clear. They don’t get the size of Chainrasp Hordes, the rend of Grimghast Reapers or the speed of Hexwraiths. They get to reroll all hits if they charge or were charge but have a mediocre (For Nighthaunts) 6″ movement. You can likely substitute anything with a more specialized role and do better. Bladegheist Revenants Shrieking Blade –-1 to hit the bearer with melee weapons. Good protection as while your Heroes aren’t affected by rend you cant improve their save either, so you need to find other ways to protect them B+ Low. Nighthaunts have been through an interesting up and down. They used to do reasonably well, then faced a decline that they haven’t really recovered from. You’ll see the occasional list appear on tournaments but not as often as one would like. It suffers from early battletome syndrome and it’s just very hard for them to make up the lost ground of having inferior army traits to newer, fresher books. Nighthaunts vs. Legion of Grief Lightshard of the Harvest Moon –Pop this once per game. Once you do every unit within 12″ can reroll failed hits. Crazy good with the right timing, but you need to manage the aura around the Guardian of Souls. B+AoS 3.0 and the new battle tome sees a major change in their play style but they retain their mobility which is one of the best reasons to play them. They also have access to and strong synergy with possibly, at least in my opinion, the most interesting model in the game – Nagash. Shadow’s Edge – Choose a melee weapon, on an unmodified 6 deal D3 Mortal wounds instead of a normal wound. Strap this to a D1 weapon otherwise you risk doing less damage. Otherwise its fine. B The Legion of the First Prince can draw on the unfathomable numbers of Be’lakor’s minions to grind their enemies down, represented by the Unyielding Legions battle trait. Also, if you don’t think Revenants are worth it at all since they’re not much better than Reapers and they don’t count as battleline, then let me know as well. Slitter –Before piling in, nominate a model within 1″ of the bearer and roll a die. If it is higher than the unit’s wound characteristic then it is slain. Good for a guaranteed extra killed model, and might occasionally tap a Hero too. B+

That’s at least 8 free wounds per game (on average) and potentially many more. The curse could easily clear a battleline unit per game. The downside is that they have no save against -2 Rend or better, realistically a charging Fulminator could remove the unit in one round. Within this list the Spirit Hosts are mostly intended to provide a Bodyguard role to Reiknor but they are also available to take objectives in the rear. This list is vulnerable to shooting (a weakness of nighthaunt) especially Vanguard-Raptors. If they are present try to make sure that at least some of the Chainrasps are not visible and then remove the visible models first. This way you can still return models with the Spirit and Guardian.We are a small team of Warhammer Enthusiasts and miniature collectors, hoping to support and further promote the hobby. The core book came with a lot of Battalions and so by sheer number a few manage to actually succeed and see use in competitive play. Nighthaunt Procession All enemy units suffer -1 Bravery within 6″ of a Nighthaunt unit. Your units are mostly melee based so you’ll be in melee range most of the time, nice little buff that will help get a few extra models but it wont change the game by itself. Deathless Spirits

Lady Olynder helps your army do what it does best – grind the enemy down through attritional warfare. You’ll win with Nighthaunt not by shattering your opponent in a single turn, but by playing the long game, using your units’ inherent resilience, not to mention abilities that sustain and heal them, to outlast your enemies.I’ve used the full Vanguard box including the Knight of Shrouds. This creates some issues with the choice of small heroes, for a 1000 point list I would normally prefer to use a Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed and a Guardian of Souls. Instead I’ve used Reiknor to provide some mobile threat and casting with the Knight of Shrouds. Numbers –Nighthaunts are a bit of a horde army, you can field large units with your 10 bravery and cheap units. Many of your units have the SUMMONABLE keyword which allows many powers and spells to heal and restore dead models. The first key unit though isn’t a unit, the Procession, Emerald Host, will get a lot of work done for us through the Emerald Curse
