I really liked how Jen had her handle that mean little, self-confidence shredding voice we’ve all had to deal with at one point or another. IMO this is what happens when you only give ARC copies to readers in your cult fan group who refuse to give constructive criticism. We don’t know much about what happens to Nyktos, but we see every little detail of Sera’s daily life in captivity.Secondly he seemed so much more soft than from the previous two books almost a weaker waterdowned version of himself.

Everyone is so accepting of the behaviour, enjoys it for the most past that it leaves her in a perpetual state of confusion, not understanding how its accepted but when surviving has become your way of life for so long its hard to see and accept the awful truth! Admittedly, personal tastes vary, but for me, their connection has been a highlight since the first book, and this installment only solidifies their status as an ultimate fantasy couple. Leaving Sera deeply afraid she’s going to be unable to put him off long enough to free both Ash and herself before Kolis tries to get intimate with her. But one of the things I loved the most about Sera was watching her come into her power and having others join her in her fight against Kolis!i loved Sera and Ash and everyone but the whole story just feels like its wondering , like shes scrambling to make the story work. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden.

A Fire in the Flesh begins very action packed way, instantly from the major cliffhanger the author left us with previously. As the false King of the Gods imprisons Sera and her love, Nyktos, it becomes evident that unwinding this tangled web would require more than mortal strength — it will require a power mightier than the Fates themselves. Due to this diagnosis, educating people on the varying degrees of blindness has become of passion of hers, right alongside writing, which she plans to do as long as she can.I honestly felt for her through it all; from her fears to her determination, she powers through even in moments of doubts. The audiobook is over twenty-four hours long and if I could, I would have listened straight through. I really enjoyed seeing things come to light and watching Sera grow to accept things about herself and come to certain realizations. Ash and Sera managed to sneak their way even higher up my list of favorite couples in fiction, for sure! I’ve already taken a huge chunk and traded in at McKay’s (those who know me know what that is) I still have them from kindle sakes and of course Audible.
