Usually, a tummy symbol's power is initiated by will, but in Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot, a Care Bear has to rub its tummy to activate it. A continuation with the same characters, Care Bears and Cousins, was commissioned by Netflix and premiered in 2015.

Originally, Share Bear had a belly badge of an ice cream soda with two straws, to symbolise how good it is to share. In this series, Share is potrayed as a cook who enjoys making lovely treats, and enjoys sharing them with her friends. In The Care Bears Movie, the Cousins made whatever animal noise according to their species due to not possessing tummy symbols; those were given to them by Tenderheart at the end of the movie.The series was originally expected to premiere in 2016, but the release was pushed forward to November 2015 when it premiered with six episodes. All of these titles were published by toy-maker Parker Brothers, who was a licensee of the characters. Anniversary: The Care Bear who helps others learn about sharing the good things they have is Share Bear. Eventually, this was confirmed by the then-rebranded Cloudco Entertainment in September 2018, when they announced they would be making a new television series, titled Care Bears: Unlock the Magic.

Each Care Bear is a different colour or shade and has a unique image on its stomach (referred to in various media as a "belly badge" or "tummy symbol") that represents its personality.Share has a slightly bigger part in the movie as one of the problems Twinkers fixes near the start of the movie, as she is trying to extract rainbow sap from the trees to make into syrup for the rainbow lollipops she wants to make. Share Bear appears in several episodes of DIC's Care Bears television series, beginning with her and a group of bears traveling to Earth to join two boys named Sanford and Murphy on a camping trip.
