The top edge gets a saddle in reddish brown, a detail I normally expect to see show up much later in the build. The Ultra Dragon fills the center of the scene, with the minifigures duking it out around the fringes on the left hand side while the Crystal King looks on from near his throne.
The first section might not actually qualify as “tail”, though, as it has the hinges for the rear legs. The back of the box has a slightly less energetic view of the Ultra Dragon, with the minifigures getting a bit more focus as they surround it. The 9 LEGO NINJAGO minifigures in this set feature an exclusive Golden Oni Lloyd, Golden Cole, Golden Zane, Golden Kai and Golden Jay, who are all armed with their elemental golden weapons, plus a Crystal King, 2 Vengestone Brutes and a Vengestone Warrior with bright weapons. The main premise of the Ninjago universe is based around six teenage Ninja, Kai, Jay, Cole, Zane, Nya, and Lloyd, who have been trained by their master Sensei Wu, fighting forces of evil to protect the land of Ninjago. It is based on NINJAGO: Crystallized TV series and includes Golden Oni Lloyd; Golden Cole, Golden Zane, Golden Kai and Golden Jay.Little ninja ride into battle with Lloyd on the back of his amazing 4-headed dragon to take down The Crystal King. I’m sure this will feature somehow in the tv show, but for now it’s just a cool way to corral a copy of all the different golden weapons that come with this set. This bulky beast of a set combines the elemental powers of four ninja and they are all represented by this four-headed dragon. Lloyd gets an inset shot in the upper right, surrounded by an artistic rendering of the Ultra Dragon. The set includes an exclusive Golden Oni Lloyd; Golden Cole, Golden Zane, Golden Kai and Golden Jay, who are all armed with their elemental golden weapons; Crystal King; 2 Vengestone Brutes; and a Vengestone Warrior.
If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. On the hero side, you get most of the main hero characters – the four original ninjas in new golden outfit variations, and an exclusive Golden Oni Lloyd. I really like the chunky feel here, and it’s pretty necessary to counterbalance the abundance of heads. Plus the wings are a clever mechanism, especially with the combination of elements used to make them work. The wings have some interesting Technic construction, with a knob that uses both a Ninjago spinner crown and another straw hat as decoration. The combination of these elements allows them to be spread open or folded back, by twisting the blade cap, an element from the early days of the NINJAGO theme.Rare pieces also include the 5×5 Rounded corner brick (in 2 recent Disney sets) and the 2 x 2 45 degree Elbow pipe which has only one previous appearance: 71391 Bowser’s Airship. Kids aged 9 and up can stage their favourite scenes from the NINJAGO: Crystallized TV series with Lloyd's Golden Ultra Dragon (71774) playset, featuring a 4-headed golden dragon toy and 9 minifigures. The dragon is billed as being the largest yet, I’m not sure if this is in terms of scale or piece count.
